Morrill Hall Roof Restoration in Ithaca, NY
Morrill Hall at Cornell University is a classic example of Second Empire architecture, standing proudly in Ithaca, New York.
Built in 1866 by architect Henry W. Wilcox, it features Ithaca bluestone cladding and has been recognized as a national historic landmark since 1965.
As part of a major renovation, the project team replaced the roof with Roofinox Tin Matte (Terne-coated stainless) standing seam panels.

Bell & Spina Architects led the design, while Charles F. Evans Company completed the installation.
They laid new plywood over existing deck boards, added a self-adhering underlayment, and then secured double-lock standing seam panels.
This new roof matches the building’s original 19th-century appearance while offering enhanced durability for modern conditions.
