Mustique Island Hurricane Repair: Roofinox 316L Stands Up to the Salt
Hand-made Roofinox 316L stainless gutters rebuilt a hurricane-hit roof on Mustique. Built for salt, wind, and long service life in harsh coastal climates.
When a hurricane tore across Mustique Island in the Caribbean, it left roofs and gutters battered by wind-driven salt and debris. American contractor and Roofinox trainer John Sheridan and his crew were brought in to rebuild the drainage system on one of the island’s landmark metal roofs.
The roof itself wasn’t Roofinox — but when it came to the gutters, the team knew only Roofinox 316L stainless steel could handle the extreme coastal environment. Every gutter section was hand-fabricated on site, cut and formed to match the roofline, and joined with welded seams for maximum durability.

Salt-laden air and hurricane winds make Mustique one of the toughest places on earth for metals. Where painted steel or aluminum would quickly corrode, Roofinox 316L delivers lasting protection with virtually no maintenance.
